People want 'edutainment'This new breed of influencer could outlast all the rest and may soon be dominating social media feeds. It wasn't just because TikTok users love to gossip — the platform suggested names of popular models as related searches at the bottom of Paré's video. When Business Insider viewed the video, TikTok suggested searching for "devon windsor suitcase" and "Taylor Hill" in different search bars. As TikTok looks to boost search activity , the company is automatically generating suggested queries in the search bars on videos. AdvertisementSince user comments help feed recommended searches, trolls flooding a creator's comments section with rude phrases or false claims can impact what the app recommends their followers view next. AdvertisementLike Bervell, several other TikTokers expressed frustration at their lack of control over the recommended searches, which can end up being "gossipy," he said, or completely unrelated to their content.

Part ASMR, part digital rest stop, "silent reviews" call for creators to not speak (for the most part) but instead to "silently" review products with exaggerated facial expressions and dramatic gestures. @stephreadsalot If you decide to unfollow or only watch and support my one silent review per month, thats totally okay. Silent reviews had "really blown up" and "expanded way past me," she said, which, on the one hand, was "so cool." Stephanie told BI she still loves making silent reviews but wants to explore new formats. AdvertisementThis isn't the first time a "silent" trend has enthralled TikTok.

The new completely AI-generated musician Anna Indiana was met with fierce backlash online. She's Anna Indiana, the first musician whose entire existence — from the image and singing to the music's chord progression, key, tempo, and lyrics — is claimed to have been generated by artificial intelligence, without human involvement. I’m Anna Indiana and I’m an AI singer-songwriter. Everything from the key, tempo, chord progression, melody notes, rhythm, lyrics, and my image and singing, is auto-generated using AI. Indiana's music is middling, but it's not egregiously unlistenable.

‘Another Body’ Review: A Cowardly New World
  + stars: | 2023-10-19 | by ( Lisa Kennedy | ) www.nytimes.com   time to read: +1 min
The film, directed by Sophie Compton and Reuben Hamlyn, follows Taylor as she attempts to track down the person responsible. Along the way, she discovers two others whose faces have also been used for deepfake porn: Julia, a woman she recognizes from college, and Gibi, an ASMR actor and streamer. The twist is that Taylor’s and Julia’s names are pseudonyms and that they are portrayed by “face veil” actors (that technology came to the fore in the documentary “Welcome to Chechnya”). “Another Body” is most persuasive when experts weigh in on the reality-upending aspects of deepfake technology and image-based sex abuse. That the documentary does this by utilizing some of that technology to protect Taylor and Julia’s identities raises its own ethical questions — ones that, even with the filmmakers’ compassion and transparency, “Another Body” doesn’t quite resolve.

How a 14-Minute Video on Posture Changed My Life

I crave this feeling, which I associate with sitting in a darkened eye doctor’s office, listening to the soft click of the phoropter. There is another avenue for finding environments that have a swaddling effect on the mind, and that is the sprawling and wildly popular world of ASMR videos on YouTube. Many ASMR videos involve role play, with a YouTuber taking on a specific identity to simulate a one-on-one prom-dress fitting or lice check. While ASMR videos can prompt that nice prickly feeling, they have the broader aim of soothing viewers, many of whom often watch them as a stress-management tool or sleep aid. I started watching ASMR videos during Covid lockdown.

ASMR videos come in all shapes and sizes. Although the content of ASMR videos varies tremendously, what remains consistent is the physical impact they have on viewers who are susceptible to them. Despite the work these creators put into their videos, accidental ASMR is one of the most popular sub-genres for viewers. The dominance of this setup amongst ASMR fans may all be down to the legacy of one man who is a legend among fans of accidental ASMR, but was, for a very long time, completely unaware of ASMR’s existence. Scroll through the comments section of most ASMR videos, and it won’t be long until you find people referencing a line spoken by Kelly.

Jungmin Kang started making slime out of Elmer's glue and borax as a hobby when she was 13. I started making slime in 2017 when I was a 13-year-old middle schooler after watching a video on Instagram. I realized that you could easily make it with glue and slime activator, which is borax diluted in water. When Jungmin started high school, it became difficult to balance the business with her education. Being a business owner has taught me about persistenceWhen I started, some of my classmates called slime childish and ridiculous.
User-generated content, or "UGC" are videos creators sell to brands for use on the company account or as paid advertisements. Because of that difference, unlike influencers, UGC creators don't need a large following of their own to get started. For the companies, it's a much cheaper option as UGC creators are essentially writers, makeup artists, talent, and crew in one — a bargain compared to an ad agency. In addition to these deals, many UGC creators have begun charging for coaching calls and courses. She's also pitching UGC content that would allow her to get paid to travel with her whole family.
